

Intermediate Accountant
Role Overview
We are seeking an Intermediate Accountant with 3–5 years’ Australian accounting experience in bookkeeping and management accounting.
You will work as a dedicated accountant supporting a large franchise group, maintaining accurate financial records, preparing monthly profit and loss reports and ensuring end-to-end compliance with Australian accounting standards.
This position focuses on high-level bookkeeping and management accounting including month-end reporting, reconciliations and variance analysis across multiple franchise entities. You’ll contribute to financial insight and operational efficiency while working within an established accounting structure.
Role Highlights:
- Manage consolidated accounts for a multi-entity business group
- Prepare monthly P&L, balance sheet and variance reports
- End-of-week transaction coding
- Payables receipt tracking, coding and balance checks
- Apply management accounting principles to support decision-making
- Work under the supervision of a Senior Accountant and Operations Lead
- Standard shift: 8:00 am–5:00 pm (IST), Monday to Friday , full-time, on-site
Candidate Skill and Industry Experience
This role requires solid bookkeeping experience combined with applied knowledge of management accounting. You will support accurate reporting and operational visibility across several business units.
Core skills:
- Proven experience in full-function bookkeeping and accounting
- Strong understanding of accrual accounting, journal entries, and reconciliations
- Experience preparing management reports and interpreting P&L statements
- Ability to manage multi-entity or franchise-style accounts
- Intermediate to advanced Excel proficiency and data accuracy
Relevant experience:
- Demonstrated 3–5 years’ Australian bookkeeping and accounting experience
- Demonstrated experience of Australian GST requirements
- Exposure to larger business bookkeeping requirements
- Experience preparing monthly interims, PnLs, trial balances and simple management reports
- Good communication skills and ability to convey issues, escalate issues to management and explain your workings.
