

Senior Accountant
Role Overview
We’re hiring a Senior Accountant (Complex Groups & International Tax) with 4-8 years of Australian experience across multi-entity consolidations, technical reporting and advanced tax concepts covering tax controversy, cross-border/treaty matters and the application of complex Australian tax law.
You’ll work with the head tax specialist of a leading Sydney tax practice to provide processing support and advice on group restructures, reviews/audits and board-level reporting while adhering to corporate governance and tax law frameworks.
Role Highlights
- Complex, multi-entity management & statutory processing.
- Work with CFOs/Partners; mentor juniors and uplift practice processes.
- Standard shift: 8:00am–5:00pm, Monday–Friday, full-time on-site at our Mohali office
Candidate Skill and Industry Experience
This role requires an accounting professional with extensive hands-on experience in Xero, Australian taxation and compliance, financial reporting, and client management. The ideal candidate will be confident working autonomously, managing multiple client portfolios, proactively identifying and resolving issues, and consistently delivering high-quality outcomes with minimal supervision.
Core skills:
- Proven experience in full-function bookkeeping and accounting
- Strong understanding of GST, BAS, IAS, payroll, superannuation, and Australian taxation compliance
- Experience preparing management reports and interpreting P&L statements
- Ability to manage multi-entity or franchise-style accounts
- Excellent communication, client management, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
Relevant experience:
- Demonstrated 4–8 years’ of experience working with Australian clients in bookkeeping and accounting roles
- Exposure to month-end and year-end reporting including workpapers, reconciliations, and audit support
- Experience in preparing and lodging BAS and IAS along with supporting tax and compliance processes
- Experience in handling Xero migrations, system clean-ups, historical data reviews, and catch-up bookkeeping work
- Good communication skills and ability to convey issues, escalate issues to management and explain your workings.

Our Ideal Candidate
Our ideal candidate will have minimum 5 years direct, verifiable Australian public practice experience with exposure and workflow preparation of varied tasks in multi-entity structures. You will have experience in completing larger business sales transactions, capital gains tax calculations and assessment of complex GST requirements.
You will also have experience in researching and applying tax law and ATO rules to resolve complex queries.
